Warrior / Help me Obi tank, you're our only hope..

There are times when the raid is swirling around the toilet bowl teetering on the verge of going under to the murky sewer.  A mob is running loose, and no tank is on it.  Well, this is your chance to grab agro and play your tank with style.

Any FL tank with fresh discs is a better mitigator than the best tank with no discs - at least until his discs drop.  When a mob is loose, the tank MTO is likely shot and trying to recover.  So I say, feel free to lasso the thug mob that is ravaging our dps and healers.  At this point, YOU are our best defense.  Yes you...

I saw a non boxed tank today standing in the corner shooting arrows while the bosses were ripping people apart.  This is not what your class is about.  You are not dps, you are a tank.  Just step in and be a speed bump if nothing else - you almost surely will save a dps or healer in the process.

The best thing you bring to the table relative to non tanks is mitigation - use it.  Seriously.

Shadow Knight / Use the tank channel
« on: November 29, 2015, 04:07:17 AM »
I'll post this in all  three tank forums.

When a raid starts to crumble a bit, I notice that I am often fighting someone for agro on a mob pickup.  It's good that people are jumping in to keep us afloat (really good), but we are all wasting each others deflects etc when we don't communicate.  Really try to work on using the tank channel guys, I am convinced that there are borderline raids we lose, simply because 2 tanks cooked their deflects at once.

If you see the raid crumbling, ask in channel if anyone is ready, and if you are ready, SAY "ready if needed or something" in channel.  Just blurt it out, who cares - you might save someones deflect, and maybe even save the raid.

Necromancer / Multiple targets and dots
« on: November 29, 2015, 03:54:35 AM »
While playing Scoville, I noticed that his dps was a lot lower than some other necro's dps.  When I sought out why, one thing I learned was that some necros dot multiple targets (basically deviating from MA calls in a big way).  This will increase a necro parse, but it makes me wonder, when raid mobs likely have a high hp regen rate, are necros who do this really doing the smart thing for the raid?

It seems like the more dots you have going the better at a glance, but when raid mob hp regen is factored in, you might be less effective spreading out dots as opposed to maxing out the MA target.
