Tanks & Mitigation Buff
* [04/16/2013] NOTICE: This post has been modified to reflect amendments posted within this thread *

All tanks, please ensure you have the Cleric mitigation buff: Shining Bastion.

Shining Bastion provides the following:
  • Lowers incoming melee damage by 10%
  • Provides a stun proc, with a recourse direct 2k+ heal

Shining BastionMitigate Melee Damage by 10%, 0 total
Add Defensive Proc: Crippling Glare II rate mod 400
  Crippling Glare II:
  Stun (1.00 sec/100)
Autocast Shining Health II: Increase Hitpoints by 2553

Effects Breakdown:
  • Mitigate Melee Damage by 10%, 0 total:
There is no cap for total damage, it's 10% mitigation to melee hits until the buff fades.
  • Stun (1.00 sec/100):
The stun portion provides extra aggro for the Tank.  In addition, NPC (mobs) that are not stun immune, become briefly stunned and not swing; overall resulting in a reduction of incoming damage towards the Tank.
The heal proc can crit for classes with related AA Crit Heal/Tap lines (ie, Paladins/Shadowknights).  In addition, being a heal, it'll provide a tiny bit of aggro.  Overall, the heals are free, and help cover incoming damage.

Additional Benefits:
  • Close to 9 minute duration.
  • Normal recast timer (global refresh).  Allowing Clerics to maintain/refresh it quickly, across several assigned tanks.

GTT Trigger

Provided below is a trigger for when Shining Bastion FADES.  When it fires, hit your hotkey requesting another one.

Trigger File: tank-sa-fade.gtt

Audio File: Alert5.wav

Buff Blocks

Shaman Spirit Guardian line prevents Divine Interposition (DI) from landing.  This is a big deal on raids, so please block the following Spirit Guardian spells:

Code: [Select]
/blockspell add me 30900, 30901, 30902, 38064, 38065, 38066, 40833
Spell Data note for reference:
Spirit Guardian:
1: Cast: Spirit Renewal if HP Below 50 Percent
3: Stacking: Delayed Heal Marker (10)
        Spirit Renewal:
4: Increase Current HP by 22000 per tick (4 ticks)
                5: Cast: Lingering Spirits
                    Lingering Spirits:
3: Stacking: Block new spell if slot 3 is 'Delayed Heal Marker' and < 1000

Divine Interposition RK. III:
1: Divine Intervention with 51963 Heal
2: Stacking: Block new spell if slot 3 is 'Delayed Heal Marker' and < 7
3: Stacking: Delayed Heal Marker (7)

Note: The Shaman ability is blocking DI

All tanks need to update your blocks to go back 5 levels on both the Druid and Paladin lines.  Originally when I wrote the post, I didn't think leaving them out would be an issue.  There are reasons to use the level 90 versions to counter the fizzle AE coupled with Mastery of the Past AA to prevent fizzling during RT raid.

Anyway, this is why our tanks are losing SA during RT among other events as well...

Here's the addon blocks:
(merging these numbers with the original post above)

Paladins, Shadowknights, Warriors:
Code: [Select]
/blockspell add me 25396, 25397, 25398, 25877, 25878, 25879

References

PALADIN:
HoT: Protective Devotion

Recourse proc Target of Target:

Protective Devotion Guard = 25396
Protective Devotion Guard II = 25397
Protective Devotion Guard III = 25398

DRUID:
HoT: Adrenaline Blast

35% Chance to trigger: Adrenaline Blast Effect

Adrenaline Blast Effect = 25877
Adrenaline Blast Effect = 25878
Adrenaline Blast Effect = 25879

I noticed you have (25398) shown twice in the /blockspell line and are missing (25877). I assume its a typo but then again, what do i know about tanking?

Good catch!  Thanks Minisca!

Fortunately it wasn't blocking a different spell entirely, so the fix isn't tricky.  I corrected both posts.

Here's the addon for tanks:

Code: [Select]

/blockspell add me 25877

Reference Table 1: Detailed Spell to ID List

Paladin

VoA: Protective Dedication

Recourse proc Target of Target:
Protective Dedication Guard = 28464
Protective Dedication Guard II = 28465
Protective Dedication Guard III = 28466

RoF: Protective Allegiance

Recourse proc Target of Target:
Protective Allegiance Guard = 34470
Protective Allegiance Guard II = 34471
Protective Allegiance Guard III = 34472

Warrior

Your DPS shield topple disc has a mitigation recourse proc buff called: Bracing Stance.  It has a low cap, and will fade immediately.  You can block the recourse proc, and still benefit from the DPS portion of the topple disc.  Otherwise, your Bracing Stance will overwrite Shining Armor (CLR) buff.

SoD: Shield Topple (Disc)

Shield Topple
Bracing Stance = 19558
Bracing Stance = 19559
Bracing Stance = 19560

Druid

Adrenaline line.  Basically, this is a heal, and a vie chance recourse buff.  The vie portion has a cap.  As with the others, same % type buffs don't stack, and highest takes precedence.  Therefore, the vie proc will overwrite the CLR Shining Armor line.

Tanks can block the mitigation portion, but let the HEAL through.  In the raid setting, this is key.

VoA: Adrenaline Flood

35% Chance to trigger: Adrenaline Flood Effect
Adrenaline Flood Effect = 28969
Adrenaline Flood Effect = 28970
Adrenaline Flood Effect = 28971

RoF: Adrenaline Rush

Adrenaline Rush Effect = 34998
Adrenaline Rush Effect II = 34999
Adrenaline Rush Effect III = 35000

Reference Table 2: Cap & Conflict Buffs

DRUID       Effects

  (Parent Spell: Adrenaline Rush)

  (Parent Spell: Protective Dedication)

RoF: Protective Allegiance Guard IIProc Target of Target Protective Allegiance Guard II: Mitigate Melee Damage by 15%, 35465 total
  (Parent Spell: Protective Allegiance)

WARRIOR
SoD: Bracing StanceProc Effect Bracing Stance: Mitigate Melee Damage by 40%, 488 total
  (Parent Disc: Shield Topple)

* NOTICE:

It appears the slots have changed (finally), with the introduction of our new upgrade to SA, Shining Bastion:

7:   Add Defensive Proc: Crippling Glare II rate mod 400
12:   Mitigate Melee Damage by 10%, 0 total

Where 12, used to be 1; caused a slew of conflicts with various other spells.

Therefore, tanks please: REMOVE EVERY BLOCKED BUFF WITH THE FOLLOWING VIE ICON:

How to remove blocked buffs:

In-Game EQ Icon
  • Character
    • Blocked Buffs
      • Click the buff icons you wish to remove.

Notes:
- Original post topic and contents changed to reflect current game state.
- These changes do not impact the importance of Shining Bastion, and therefore the post will remain.
- Tanks should still have a trigger setup for when SB fades, just the same as for DI.

thx gigtuoka, works well. wonder how hard, useful, it would be to make one for the other mt's, so Im not constantly asking , who has FS up or if current tank is running FS etc, course deaths may throw off that timer.
