GINA (available at http://eq.gimasoft.com/gina/Default.aspx) is a nice alternative to GamTextTriggers (GTT) -- in fact, the author admits he took the best of GTT and improved it. I've found the following features useful:
- The ability to customize triggers by character, very useful for multi-boxers
- Grouping triggers together, and shutting whole groups of them off (like UF/HoT triggers)
- Being able to have several overlays in different areas of the screen
- Easy to share a trigger set with someone across EQ
- Ability to program triggers, such as "I want to see a quick text when a character nukes for more than 80k"
However, because it is a more advanced program, some might find it more challenging to use. Indeed, when you pull over GTT triggers where you're supposed to put in your character's name instead of YOURNAME, in GINA you want to put something different altogether ("{C}"). Because of these differences, I've decided to write a short document (it has lots of pictures) for those of you who either have used GTT for a long time and want to give GINA a try, or for the person who is new to Freelance Raids and wants to give it a spin.
The link to the manual is here:
Ssark's GINA Manual (http://eqfreelance.net/ssark/docs/GINA.pdf)
I will update the manual here as necessary. Enjoy!

I've heard reports that GINA's Text-To-Speech (TtS) function can be slow or delayed. While I've never experienced it, I can't discount it. For most of my TtS needs, I usually visit:
http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php#top
And then simply have it create a .WAV file for me, and have GINA play that. Sadly, no Furro voice, but then again... there are UK voices!
So if TtS seems slow for you, this is probably a great option.

I transitioned to GINA a few months ago, and I highly recommend everyone who raids with us to do the same. It's vastly superior to GTT.
You can import GTT triggers into GINA as well. In case anyone is concerned about remaking their triggers and/or FL triggers (which are currently in GTT format).

I have installed GINA but am having difficulties with receiving trigger files from others. Is there anyone who could spend some time chatting with me in game or in private messages to help me get this set up properly? I would very much appreciate it.

In GINA, top left of window is a blue pull down tab, click it and select Settings. Within the Settings popup window select the Sharing tab. Under Accept Shared Invitations From section, select the option as desired. Once set, click Save in bottom right corner of that window.

I have just got a new computer and have installed Gina, natch. But now it gets interesting.
Under XP I could download all of the Gina triggers, no problem. But under 7, Gina does not recognize the trigger files as Gina files.
Any advice?

Click on the file, and when you get to pick which program to open it with find the exe for GINA and select that one.

The reference sited as usually visited is no longer available. Can you recommend an alternative site?

Go to:
https://eq.gimasoft.com/gina/Download.aspx
Can download GINA there. All Freelance triggers are made to automatically work through GINA software.
