Freelance Ramblings / Re: Warrior Epic 2.0

Thnx suurge for your long reply,

But too bad i cant agree with your way of thinking.  :-[

I thought Need before Greed sounds more then fair in real life and also in this game.

All I was asking was a little understanding from the experiance players that know someone so close to epic must and should get the first chance to finish his or her epic, count meself also in that matter.

So if I must kill 20 mobs to finish my epic and somone else need just 1 kill and his done i want give my loot turn to him or her.

I have also seen a guild that placed some points extra to the roll of players. its mean if you need 3 loots to finish epic and the other player need 1 loot to finish his or hers the 1 that is closer get +10 points more on roll numbers. If the first person roll as example 200 and the sencond person rolls 200 too he get 200+10=210 and still wins the roll. But if the first rolls 220 and the second one rolls 200+10=210 he lose and the first person can loot the item.

This way give the person that worked hard to finish his her epic faster get a little more chance to end his/her epic.

Once again I just asked for some undestanding and didnt ask that players MUST stop rolling on epic parts, also i do not try change freelance way of loots rules, i just try give some information about other passible ways to make it fair to some peoples that are way closer then others.  8-)

I could not have said it any better than Suurge.  However, I have a thing or two to add to the conversation.

In the beginning of Freelance, the loot rules were decided on by the Raid Leaders as the most optimum way to handle an “open” raiding format.  This loot style is the fairest way to handle any type of loot that drops in EQ.  After all, it is determined by a /random 0 1000 determined by your computer.  There is no human error associated with it.  Also, this style allows people to freely choose what they want to roll on and on what character they want loot on.  It is the only way we can be 100% fair to everyone.

In conclusion, read the loot rules because we follow them to the letter.  It's the only fair way.  Frankly, Freelance is an “Open” style of raiding.  You choose to join us on our raids, as we do not *make* you raid with us.

Thank you and I hope to see you on the next raid!

i use ancient call of power over the aura because of its range, the aura has a small radius, and i dont like having to recast it after i fade either. Mojo over at The Concert Hall has been doing a bunch of parses with different weapons.   http://forums.theconcerthall.net/viewtopic.php?t=3599   pretty nifty

Here are the details of Ancient: CoP:

Slot Description
1:  Increase Spell Damage by 30%
2:  Increase Haste v3 by 30%
3:  Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)
4:  Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)
5:  Limit: Spell Type(Detrimental only)
6:  Limit: Target(AE PC v1 excluded)
7:  Limit: Target(PB AE excluded)
8:  Limit: Target(Targeted AE excluded)
9:  Limit: Target(Uber Giants excluded)
10:  Limit: Target(Uber Dragons excluded)
11:  Limit: Combat Skills Not Allowed

The problem with Ancient: CoP I see is:

1. The spell damage component only goes up to level 70, so any new spell your group is casting (TSS or TBS levels 71 - 75) Will be greatly reduced on the spell damage focus.

Yes you have to recast the aura after you fade, but IMO its worth the extra 5 levels of spell damage focus for your group.  But, to each their own.  I can see a use for the extra range if your a puller or the raid is spread out over a large terrain.

You said "The best bard overhaste song is Eriki's Psalm of Power which grants 30% overhaste."

 :o

The best Bard overhaste is our Aura (Aura of the Muse) from the PoR expansion.  It frees up a song slot and is the same overhaste + offers increased damage to spells.

Here are the details:

Aura of the Muse

Slot Description
1:  Increase Spell Damage by 30%
2:  Increase Haste v3 (Overhaste) by 30%
3:  Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)
4:  Limit: Max Level(75) (lose 10% per level over cap)
5:  Limit: Spell Type(Detrimental only)
6:  Limit: Target(AE PC v1 excluded)
7:  Limit: Target(PB AE excluded)
8:  Limit: Target(Targeted AE excluded)
9:  Limit: Target(Uber Giants excluded)
10:  Limit: Target(Uber Dragons excluded)
11:  Limit: Combat Skills Not Allowed

Techinically, Eriki's was never the best overhaste, even back when it came out in the OOW expansion.  The best overhaste at the time was Ancient: Call of Power, from CoA.

Anyhow, goot write up.  Just gotta get the Bard stuff up to date.

Thanks,

Heath

Jilkk,

We would have to do it for you on Wednesday as we raid pretty much every other day with BoW and Freelance.  Sun, Mon, Tues, and Thurs are BoW raid nights and weekends are usally scheduled for tacvi, DP flagging and CoA with Freelance.  That leaves only Wednesday for your 2.0.

Pre Grats.

Thanks on reading,
Arthursuen

We do miss you bro; however Freelance raids are getting even more popular as we progress.  In order to secure your spot in any of our raids, you have to be on time.  I can't stress that enough.  This is for everyone, even if I am late and the raid fills up, I'll have to sit out.

Hope to see you soon!

With the level up to 75 now, 2.0's are fairly easy now.  We should be able to easily power out several Cleric's epic back to back with no problem and in very little time.

Pre grats folks

Theme set to “Gilligan’s Island”
-----------------------------------------------
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale from a Freelance Bard,
that started from the Plane of Knowledge,
right next to Furro’s Tree.

The mates are a mighty Raidn' folk,
our Raid Leader is a midget,
54 raiders ported off that day,
for a several hour tour,
a several hour tour.

The event started getting rough,
the mighty raid was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless Haffer,
Freelance would have lost.
Freelance would have lost.

The raid set aground after an AE-TL with a new and exciting raid event!
with Furro,
Thewun too.
A bard named Heeth,
A main tank named Suurge,
Arthursuen and Ress the Bot!
Here on Freelance Raid Nights!.

Heh, I've tanked those aug run named mobs in guild groups before.  If y'all set up a aug run and I am online, shoot me a tell.  I still need a few of those augs on Ress and I would be glad to help.

Seeds,

We, the raiders of Freelance, take pride in our open style raiding and value Seeds input into our on going success.  We anticipated a conflict with us breaking into Anguish and keeping your open raid going, as mission timers will conflict.  It's all good.  If your members would like to join us, feel free.  Freelance always values a stable core of raiders, and you guys and gals have helped Freelance immensely to get to where we are now.  Remember, Freelance is a union of raiders, if your in a guild or not.

Shoot me/Furro a in game tell and let us know what you guys have come up with.  I would like to see you guys on Freelance raids and if we can work something out together, we would be open to discuss it further.

Thanks again for the fun Anguish runs!

Any plans for a Anguish run on the 28th?  It would have to B early, as our Tacvi run is scheduled for 6PM central.
