Brief Event Overview and Strat

This event takes place in two main stages.

Stage 1: Temples, each with a miniboss and 7-9 adds.  We have 12 mins for this stage before autofail.

Stage 2: Cazic Thule, with adds, Deathtouch, Fear, and Auras on ground to avoid.  Assist MA as assigned for CT/Adds.

Reminder: During Stage 2, do not go near the Ring of Fire, or you'll be DT'd.

Keeping Cazic Thule Distracted

When everyone zones in, they get a Dagger of Self-Sacrifice on their cursor.

Assigned player(s) will use the dagger clicky on adventurer NPCs while avoiding CT in order to distract and prevent him from approaching our raid.

CT approaches from the north initially when the event begins.

IF he catches any player (that gets too close), they'll be Death Touched.  Then CT starts summoning players randomly and killing them. 

Players tasked for this, don't let CT catch you!



Stage 2: Cazic Thule and Ring of Fire

This part takes place in several stages of CT Health.

ALL Mandatory Setup

During Stage 2 - Cazic Thule

Directionals AEs:

Front: Quailing Spirit - Melee/Caster SILENCE + DoT (corruption cures, 40' range).
Rear: Fearful Awareness - 35k DD (100' range).

Emotes & DT Penalty

You'll have to go through each GTT emote after it is imported and replace YOUR_NAME with your character name.

Pattern: YOUR_NAME, remove four of your enhancement spells
Action: REMOVE 4 Buffs!

Pattern: YOUR_NAME, come to me, or you shall suffer
Action: Get close to CT!

Pattern: YOUR_NAME, begone from my presence
Action: Run away!

Pattern: begone from my presence, YOUR_NAME
Action: Run away!

* Penalty for failing ANY of the above = Death touch target who failed.  Anyone around the slacker clown who failed gets Cazic Corruption - 15k DoT, 5 min duration (corruption 35).

The two directional Triggers were not firing because I overlooked the double space after Cazic Thule name.  I've remade the trigger below for just the directionals.   Also, added the .wav files that were missing for original set.

IF you have already imported the original set from: Jun 9th, 2012 strat post, then you can just import the one below and it'll ADD TWO DIRECTIONAL TRIGGERS.  Your broken triggers are never going to fire anyway, so you can just leave them in there.  This is the workaround for those not tech savy or want to dig for and fix the broken trigger.

IF you're tech savy, and want to just edit your triggers, you can add two spaces after Cazic Thule. 

Confused?  Just ask for help in channel.  There's no easy way to update GTT's really, this is the best method I could come up with.

Freelance wins on first attempt, 6/22/2012, despite the double-space trigger issue.  Nice job, everyone, just watching for the right triggers, the next attempt will be even more smooth!

Additonal Triggers - Mandatory

When Cazic Thule reaches 30% and onward, it covers patches of ground in FEAR around nearby areas.  A warning goes off before a fear location fires.  Run in the direction your trigger tells you, but DO NOT RUN INTO THE RING OF FIRE!

If you DO NOT REACT PROPERLY, you WILL BE FEARED and DT'd.


GTT ADDON FEARS: hot_fear_ct_ground_spots.gtt

* denotes new .wav file.  Double check make sure you have ALL the .wavs associated with these triggers though.



* REMOVE FOUR BUFF EMOTE:

Lots of people are still failing the REMOVE FOUR BUFF emote.  There's no sound associated with the trigger for it, so you may want to edit and add a sound or some Text-to-Speech to alert.

To find it in GTT, the pattern is: YOURNAME, remove four of your enhancement spells

Look for that, but with your character name obviously, then click EDIT and adjust to add sound/speech as mentioned above.

Observed notes from "The person who keeps CT busy while everyone else kills pyramid minis":

One can create a 12-min timer trigger based on the phrase "Bring an end to Cazic Thule's reign!" which Gallentin says when you trigger event.

Cazic Thule paths really slowly.  He starts at his hill (where we finish), and takes his time getting down to the south (where we start).

There are 5 adventurers right near Gallentin that seem to be static.  There are two dozen other adventurers that roam the area between Gallentin and Cazic's hill.

To perform a blood sacrifice, you need to be somewhat near Cazic-Thule, or EQ tells you that CT can't smell the blood.  You do get an emote if you do it properly.  For this reason, it is a good idea to start with adventurers to the north, closer to where CT comes from.

The dagger has a very small range, and a 0.5 second cast time.  This can cause issues with moving adventurers.  It is good to get out in front of them and start casting it as they walk by.  (They path at normal mob pathing speeds.)
Because of the cast time and you moving, do the healer trick and when you stop, do a little spin before casting.  This ensures your cast won't fail because the game considered you moving while casting.

The blood sacrifice will eventually kill the adventurer, or CT will when he gets to them.  It's a 9k dot.

Don't just go from adventurer to adventurer clicking like mad.  You'll probably do about 8-12 blood sacrifices in 12 minutes, letting CT catch up to one.  When in doubt, lead CT a little towards Gallentin, since you know you have 5 or so adventurers nearby if you need one.  Remember, he has to be fairly close by!

Always be aware of CT's location.  If he stumbles onto you, we lose!

One other note: remind the pullers, especially when pulling the NW temple, NOT to drag the mobs across the adventurer field.  They need to drag those mobs straight south or even a bit SW, because if they drag them across the field where you're playing with CT... who knows what fun could ensue.  Could get you killed, could get puller killed, either way we'll end up losing.
