Brief Event Overview & Strategy

For this event we must deal with an initial wave of invader adds and then Emollious.

There are auras located in each corner of the event area.  Each aura has a deterimental effect (mana/endurance drains, HP etc).  Stay out of the auras.

As Emollious changes colors, it can be moved to the related colored aura.  This affects Emollious in some fashion.

At 80 percent of Emollious HP, in the east and west corridors a prime healer spawn.  Two healers total, may have to balance their HP down otherwise it may heal Emollious.

Assist your assigned MA according to group.

Tanks - When positioning Emollious in an aura, face it outwards, so melee are pushing inward (toward a corner), but in a way that allows you to remain out of the aura if possible.   Also, if you can position opposite of the corner apex, so when players get hit by the knockback, it doesn't fling them into another corner, it flings them into the middle area.

keeping him in black aura seemed to work fine.

need to watch position some to make sure our melee are at max range and not stuck in the aura's detrimental effect.

Defeated: Thursday, February 4, 2016

Strategy Post Updated

Updated the overview area of the strategy post.  It's still a basic work in progress, with regards to the auras and such.  Seems we can keep it in one aura the entire time, but it also may be worth experimenting with other auras to see if there is a noticible benefit of reacting/repositioning as it changes color.

Missing which directions the healers spawned and the percentage.  Will fill those in if feedback provided.

Healers seemed to spawn in the east and west hallways. Don't recall percentages. They didn't respawn, though. So it's either we killed him fast enough after they died or there is only one spawn of them.

Half Traps got changed sometime earlier this year and it sounds like it really should be called "Full Traps" now... this is the DGC issue tracker report for it if you'd like to upvote it.

https://dgcissuetracker.com/browse/EQ-851

But apparently the task should read "Always put him in the aura to match his color" nowadays.

Yes, that is the understanding.  So it simply means moving the boss around each time he changes colors SHOULD get "Half Traps".  Gima/Furro will probably work it into the rotation.

And on a side note, All Must Fall and None May Fall were "random" according to EQ forum posts.  So pulling all the adds and killing them before the boss spawns will get you one or both (in theory) of those ach.  Each run the adds are all pulled and killed before the boss spawns.  Logs show the None May Fall was successful in early May and the last two weeks All Must Fall have been successful.  The patch may have changed the None May Fall but for now the plan will probably stay with pulling all the adds and killing them to get the random ach.
