The Tower of Frozen Shadow - T2 - Till Death Do Us Part

Zone & Instance Info

Gather Zone: The Eastern Wastes
NPC Name: Dagmar Midcap
NPC Location: Find path (CTRL-F)

Keyword to Enter:ready

Flag & Key Requirements

Zone Flag: None
Event Key: None
Group Mission: None
Event Flags: None

* Minimum to be Piggy/85'/pushed into raid: None.

Brief Event Overview

Event is triggered.  No trash to clear.  20 minute timer.

Event takes place on 5th level of Tower of Frozen Shadow.  From ZL go all the way north and take hallway on the right and click mirror.

Four bosses affiliated with bride: Eugie, Lerty, Tihgren, Vyakna

Four bosses affiliated with groom: Otdd, Pelpa, Uenlarc, Varjie

Each time a boss is killed either Daman or Nosja HP drop by 5% depending on the affiliation of boss that was killed.

When a boss is killed it respawns shortly after.

Players emoted that the usher requires their attention.  Players must move to a golem usher, target the usher and follow keyword dialog.  As a result of the dialog the player will receive one of two debuffs indicating which side the player is affiliated with (Bride's Side or Groom's Side).  Player must then move to the opposite side affiliated with and focus their attention towards defeating those wedding party bosses.

Failure to speak with usher in a timely fashion when emoted results in a undead Dancer add penalty.  In addition, player that failed is dragged around the outer ring of event area by Dancer.

Being on the wrong side (ie, opposite of affiliation) results in death by a Target AE 109k DD (Ire of the Bride or Doom from the Groom).  The DD is amplified by 2500%+ due to the bride/groom debuff on player.

Strategy

Players emoted move to golem usher, use keyword, get debuff, move to proper side, assist and kill opposing wedding party bosses.

Dancer penalty add for each player usher emoted that does not speak with usher in a timely fashion.

When you're already affiliated and you die, once rez'd, you need to re-hail the Usher to become affiliated again.  Not doing so results in a dancer add.

Dancer adds disrupt the raid and SLOW US DOWN when we have to kill them.  The event is TIMED.

Only tanks assigned to bosses are exempt from usher emote.  If you're not assigned to tank then you're not special.

All other players docked 5 DKP for each usher emote they fail.  Fail two emotes, get benched.  Fail three get removed from the raid.

You can be emoted MORE THAN ONE TIME during the event.  Expect it to happen and be ready.

Usher Emote Setup:

Setup a keyword hotkey using one of the examples below:

Example 1:

/tar a_golem_usher

/pause 5

/say Show me to my side

Example 2: With pause on same line

/tar a_golem_usher

/pause 5, /say Show me to my side

When emoted by usher, move to "a golem usher", target the golem and use your keyword hotkey and you get a debuff.

Triggers will fire when usher emotes you as well as when you are debuffed; letting you know the SIDE TO MOVE TO and WHAT TO KILL (Zombies or Mummies).

Staggers Emote & Bane Damage Opportunity using Mez:

Use MEZ to bane damage bosses that stagger emote.  Trigger will fire notifying boss that "staggers".  Mez bane against staggers bosses reportedly stops the staggering.

Example: SOMEBOSS staggers, overwhelmed with the enormity of the day's events.

Note: Reportedly bosses resisting things that should not be resistible.

Tanks:
- Tanks assigned to Bride affiliated bosses
- Tanks assigned to Groom affiliated bosses
- Tanks for bosses keep your respective boss on the correct side of room
- Have a target hotkey at the ready to pickup your boss when it respawns

Healers: TBA

MA Kill Order/Notes:
- Dancers - If no dancers up, work bosses on X/Y side as discussed during prep/TBA
- Alternate between Bride and Groom bosses to delay activation of the Bride/Groom as late as possible to avoid having to tank it until necessary

That's it for now!

This is a preliminary write up, which will be amended accordingly based on our experiences and feedback provided by our raiders.

* Friendly reminder: Freelance Raid Suggestion Policy regarding New Content - Don't kill the messenger -- pie management.

Question regarding the term "side" during this event...

I was making an actual movement toward one side (or the other) depending on being told that I belong on the bride's side or the groom's side (moving left (west) for the Bride, moving right (east) for the Groom).

But as I read the the actual text that triggers the movement I see that it referred to as an affiliation, as in I am on the Bride's side (as her ally against the groom) or on the Groom's side (as his ally against the bride).

If it's an actual movement, then step to the left (Bride's Side) and use MA2 to kill Groom's people, or right (Groom's side) and use MA1 to kill Bride's People.

If it is the alliance, can I just stay centered in the room and assist as appropriate?.

Speaking of centered, there is a north/south line in the floor that is straddled by the Priest.  It appears to be the center line of the room. It is actually 1/3 of a floor tile width left of center.  Standing on that line near the entry door is close enough to the Golem Usher to use the trigger and get a response at the proper time.

Once you are affiliated with a side you must go to the opposite side or you will most likely die from an AE that has been amplified by the debuff you have on.

When affiliated, one of two debuffs end up in your song window.

When affiliated with Bride's Side:

Bride's Side
- Increase Spell Damage Taken by 2500% to 5000%
- Limit Spell: Ire of the Bride
- 1st Person: You are affiliated with the bride, Daman.
- You are affiliated with the Bride, Daman. Best direct your attentions towards defeating Nosja and his ilk, or else you will incur her wrath!

Ire of the Bride - 109k DD

Ire of the Bride is being cast from Bride bosses, which we position on Bride's Side.

Players affiliated with Bride have Bride's Side debuff and if they are not on the opposite side they will suffer massive damage, most likely die.

When affiliated with Groom's Side:

Groom's Side
- Increase Spell Damage Taken by 2500% to 5000%
- Limit Spell: Doom from the Groom
- 1st Person: Text: You are affiliated with the groom, Nosja.
- Desc: You are affiliated with the Groom, Nosja. Best direct your attentions towards defeating Daman and her ilk, or else you will incur his wrath!

Doom from the Groom - 109k DD

Doom from the Groom is being cast from Groom bosses which we position on Groom's Side.

Players affiliated with Groom have Groom's Side debuff and if they are not on the opposite side they will suffer massive damage, most likely die.

I recommend moving clearly to the opposite side once affiliated, just to be safe.

When we got the Bride (Daman) down to 50% in health, she became active.  However, she remained invulnerable to damage.  I figure there are 2 options.  Either they go active, and now just have to be offtanked while continuing to kill the bride's side mini-bosses.  Or that both bosses have to be active before they can be damaged by normal damage.

I would think on next attempt, it may be worth trying getting Nosja down to 50% (switching to his mini-bosses) once Daman goes active to test that theory.

Thursday, October 1, 2020 - Strategy Post Updated

Good attempts on this last week.  Daman 25 - Nosja 15, was among our best.  We're getting there.

Reminder: When you're already affiliated and you die, once rez'd, you need to re-hail the Usher to become affiliated again.  Not doing so results in a dancer add.

Every bit helps to reduce the number of dancer adds.  Currently the only players exempted from reacting to Usher are assigned tanks to bosses (Daman, Nosja and the mini-bosses).

Strategy post updated to reflect our recent attempts.

See everyone in-game! :)

Saturday, October 3, 2020 - Till Death Do Us Part defeated!

We knew we'd get this down soon.  We were mainly getting jammed up on the final leg of the event.  Kept at it, made some minor adjusts here and there and got it down.

Nice work everyone!
