Freelance Ramblings / Re: Freelance DKP
« on: February 08, 2009, 01:56:28 PM »
I wanted to elaborate as to why I think this is a good idea.  In the past (and present?  I don't know) there were players like Thewun, Heeth, Chekacoch, Suurge, and others i'm sure i'm forgetting.  These people put in tons of hours to get FL moving forward.  In many cases they carried the team and we wouldn't have been able to do a lot of encounters without them.  Now every once in a great while (maybe once, if ever, in some cases) they may want to roll on something.  Almost nothing we did was of any value to these people.  In my opinion they deserve a greater chance at getting these rare loots which they can use.

In contrast to that you get players like Merfy who show up for the single encounter which interests them and they drop the raid immediately afterwards.  Someone who puts in 20 minutes of their time a week (not to mention did nothing to help FL get into DP) shouldn't get an even shot at loot when someone else puts in many hours.  Players like Merfy shouldn't be allowed in the first place but a system like this puts them at a deserved disadvantage.

Excellent idea and about time imo.  I doubt i'll be there either way but congrats to the cornerstone players who put tons of time into the team.

To the OP: Freelance really is a great group of people to raid with.  I understand the concerns you have but give them another raid or two and you might change your mind.  You won't find a better open raid out there on any server I wager.

It sucks to have someone like you leave.  I always enjoyed your presence on the raids.  Good players with good attitudes aren't as common as the used to be.  Enjoy your time away from EQ.  Maybe someday in another game I can give you sub-par heals and probably kill you some more.  Good luck to you!

Finished tier 5 DoN progression tonight with the help of Furro and some guildies on Origins of the Curse and the Vish scale on Friday.  Thanks to all since the big raids were all Freelance :)  Those who arent finished keep working on it.  The AA rewards are great.

Just updating my DoN progression status.  I've completed a few raids recently.  Right now I need Guardian of the Sands to complete teir 4 progression.

I still need Volk and Goblin Warlord for tier 3.  I hate even wasting peoples time on these since loot is garbage but noone does these anymore.  It's too bad since the rewards for progression are great.

I'm just glad people like them.  Otherwise I wouldnt have made more than one.  It's a lot of work but it's fun.  And I swear sometimes I heal and stuff between pictures, once in a while.

Hi everyone.  I've completed my latest installment of slideshows.  As usual this one comes with a rocking soundtrack so crank it.  It's a bit shorter than my others and I had to cut a lot of good pics which made me sad.  But it's still good.  This is my first one that strictly has freelance screenshots.  It kinda picks up where the last left off as far as our progression and is current through last weekend.  I hope you enjoy.

Download here:

I have 3 others that I'll link here also.  In order from newest to oldest:

EDIT:  I forgot to mention that the 3 older slideshows take a bit to load.  Doubleclick the exe file and give it a min.  The new one loads real quick.  I changed up on the software I've been using.
